Kahramana Mediterranean Grill

Y'all. Everyone. Listen. This restaurant needs to be on your visit list. I tripped over this place searching for a post-doctor visit lunch, and I was NOT disappointed. The hummus is the best I've ever had, and I'm a big hummus critic, as one of my favorite substances on this planet. The garlic sauce is fantastic. The chicken tikka was perfectly cooked and spiced. Absolutely outstanding.

Stopped by here to grab a quick bite and I always heard about the way Iraqi’s grill their fish so when I saw it in the menu, I had to try it. The fish was grilled very well, it wasn’t dry and tasted as good as it looked. If I had only one suggestion it would be that sometimes the sauce was overpowering the taste of fish itself. We also ordered the mix grill and it was made to perfection, usually I have noticed that the chicken is dry but they did a really good job with it.

Visited with my teen boys. We loved everything!!! I would eat here all the time if I lived here. We tried multiple things and it was all delicious. The young man that served us, possibly the owner or manager, was attentive, friendly and very hospitable. Restaurant had nice ambiance and was extremely clean and well designed.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kahramana is truly one of San Antonio’s hidden gems. It may not be the biggest or most well-known restaurant, but don’t let its size fool you. If you’re looking for authentic Iraqi food, this place absolutely deserves a visit. We ordered their traditional Iraqi fish, and it was outstanding. The fish was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and tasted incredibly authentic. It was served with rice, French fries, and a fresh salad, making for a generous and satisfying meal from start to finish. One of the highlights of our visit was the service. RJ took great care of us throughout the meal, checking in regularly to make sure everything was perfect without ever being intrusive. His friendliness, professionalism, and genuine attention to customers really made the experience even better. You can tell he’s growing into an excellent host. The atmosphere is simple and comfortable, allowing the food to be the star of the show. Sometimes the best restaurants aren’t the flashiest ones—they’re the places that focus on authentic recipes, quality ingredients, and making guests feel welcome. Kahramana does exactly that. This is an easy 5 out of 5 stars for me. Delicious authentic Iraqi cuisine, generous portions, excellent service, and a warm, welcoming experience. I highly recommend Kahramana to anyone looking to discover one of San Antonio’s best-kept culinary secrets. Keep up the great work!

Kahramana is an absolute gem! I ordered the chicken shawarma and it was nothing short of outstanding. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and grilled, served on a generous bed of fragrant turmeric rice studded with capers — a beautiful and flavorful combination. The plate came with grilled tomatoes, pickled onions, fresh herbs, and a creamy garlic sauce that tied everything together beautifully. To top it off, the hummus on the side was silky smooth and clearly house-made. Beyond the incredible food, the service was truly superb — attentive, warm, and welcoming from start to finish. You can tell this place takes real pride in both their cooking and their hospitality. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious Middle Eastern food with top-notch service, Kahramana is the place to be. I’ll definitely be back!

I will always come here. The food is delicious and it is the first place my kids are not picky and crave as well. Service is great. Atmosphere is normally quiet and slow when I am there but is so peaceful. The Fish is my favorite and comes with perfect amount of seasoning/flavor and includes perfect portion rice and salad

The food was delicious, the food portions are very well balanced, the service is amazing, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. The first time I eat out and the smell of the cooking doesn’t linger on my clothes. Love this place and I’ll definitely come back with family.

Found this delicious restaurant while visiting from Atlanta for basic training graduation. The chef came out and walked is through the menu and his recommendations. Everything was delicious, highly recommend!
